Our story
Fing was founded in 2009 by networking and IoT experts Carlo Medas and Marco De Angelis, with a clear vision: to give everyone professional‑grade visibility and control over their digital networks.
What began as a free mobile network scanner quickly became a global phenomenon. Without marketing investment, the Fing App was downloaded more than 35 million times, performing over 1 million scans each day and identifying billions of connected devices worldwide.
In 2016, Fing expanded its reach with Fingbox, a connected home security and troubleshooting toolkit. Launched through a record‑breaking Indiegogo campaign, Fingbox reached 40,000 homes and raised over $1.7 million, receiving wide industry acclaim.
Four years later, in 2020, Fing introduced Fing Desktop — bringing deeper insights, advanced features, and greater accuracy to laptops and desktops, seamlessly integrated with the Fing Mobile App and Web — along with Fing Premium, the first subscription plan, adding enhanced functionality.
That same year, Fing became part of Lansweeper, the leading IT Asset Management company. This union merged Fing’s consumer‑focused innovation with Lansweeper’s enterprise expertise, advancing the development of a trusted platform for network discovery, monitoring, and security.
In 2024, Fing launched Fing Agent, the sustainable evolution of the discontinued Fingbox. Designed to run on widely available platforms such as Raspberry Pi or Docker, Fing Agent delivers always‑on, 24/7 network monitoring without the need for dedicated hardware. This transition provided a more accessible and future‑proof solution for users seeking continuous protection and insights into their networks.
In 2025, Fing introduced Fing Professional — the company’s first B2B solution, created specifically for IT professionals, managed service providers (MSPs), and small businesses. The launch marked a new chapter in Fing’s journey, expanding its proven network intelligence into the professional and business arena.
